Toravine uses CMS plan data, AHRQ MEPS health expenditure distributions, and actuarial modeling to help Medicare beneficiaries find the plan that actually minimizes total annual cost -- premiums, deductibles, copays, drug costs, and provider network risk combined.
The Problem
67 million Americans are on Medicare. Every year during Open Enrollment, they face dozens of plan options with different premiums, deductibles, formularies, and provider networks. Medicare.gov's Plan Finder shows premiums and star ratings but does not model total expected cost across drug coverage phases, provider network risk, or health event probability. Broker tools are commission-driven. No independent, math-first optimizer exists.
Our Approach
We match your medications against every plan's formulary, simulate 1,000 health expenditure scenarios using MEPS age-cohort distributions, verify your doctors are in-network, factor in the new $2,000 Part D OOP cap, compute IRMAA surcharges, check Extra Help eligibility, and compare Medicare Advantage against Original Medicare + Medigap + standalone Part D. The result is a quality-adjusted cost ranking with confidence intervals -- not a broker pitch.
